Ms. Anderson practices in the areas of corporate transactions, commercial litigation and commercial real estate development, dispositions and acquisitions. She also has substantial experience in administrative and regulatory law. As a litigator, Ms. Anderson has practiced in federal court, state court and before the Office of Administrative Hearings and she has served as an arbitrator. In the area of corporate and real estate transactions, Ann-Marie has worked on, closed and/or served as lead counsel in the merger/acquisition of publicly traded and privately held companies and commercial real estate developments. She has also prepared numerous ’33 and ’34 Act securities filings, including, 8-Ks, 10ks, S-1’s and others.
Some of her representative clients have included, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Motorola, Phelps Dodge Mining Corporation, the Biltmore Hotel and Resort Condominiums, publicly traded technology and silicon chip companies, banks and financial institutions, the Arizona Medical Board, physicians, healthcare entities, real estate developers, architects, construction companies, venture capitalists and others.
Ann-Marie’s 14-years of practice experience has included practicing with Gallagher & Kennedy, P.A. and the international firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, LLP. She also served as Vice-President and General Counsel of a Silicon Valley, California technology company which pioneered the software and technology necessary to link PDA users to access the Internet and the Web. A significant portion of Ms. Anderson’s law enforcement, litigation and regulatory experience were gained from her service as an Assistant Attorney General (Arizona).
Ms. Anderson’s leadership positions and community involvement are well noted. She was elected for 6 years to the National University of Michigan Alumni Association Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, Nominating Committee, Compensation Committee, Scholarship Committee and Outstanding Alumni Committee. She was also elected Vice-President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Phoenix University of Michigan Alumni Association more than 8 years ago and continues to serve. Ms. Anderson served on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco University of Michigan Alumni Club and she has chaired her University of Michigan Law School Class Reunions and Capital Campaigns (2004 – Present) and her Albion College Class Reunion (2008).
Locally, over the last 9 years, she has served as a mentor to students attending the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Ms. Anderson was a member of a Board of Directors affiliated with the Phoenix Symphony. She is presently a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona State Bar Administrative Law Section. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of her homeowners’ association. Ms. Anderson has been a member of the Arizona Trial Lawyers’ Association and the Arizona Women Lawyers’ Association.
On occasion, Ms. Anderson has lectured on various legal topics. She was selected to lecture at a symposium at the University of Michigan Law School on the topic of “Law, Policy and the Convergence of Telecommunications and Computing Technologies,” (along with fellow speakers, Hank Berry, CEO Napster; Joel Klein, Assistant Attorney General U.S. Department of Justice; David Pine, Vice-President of Handspring; Don Davis, Chief Operating Officer of AOL and Jennifer Granholm, Govenor of Michigan). She has also lectured at the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law on the topics of corporate law and legal ethics.
Ann-Marie Anderson, Esq.. earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as a founding editor of the Journal of Gender and Law. Her father, mother and sister also attended U of M Law School. She graduated Albion College (Michigan), Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Dean’s List (every semester), Outstanding English Major, Project 250 Scholarship (for recognition as an Outstanding Scholar/Athlete/Leader), Pi Sigma Sigma (public service honorary), Alpha Lambda Delta (freshman academic honorary), Vice-President of Delta Gamma sorority and she was elected Captain of the Women’s Varsity Tennis Team while playing #1 singles and #1 doubles and earning All-Time All-Conference Honors.
In her free time, Ms. Anderson continues to play competitive tennis, qualifying for various USTA (5.0) Sectional and National Championships and previously winning 3 USTA State Singles Championships (Michigan).
