Carissa K. Seidl practices in the areas of family law, juvenile law and criminal law. Ms. Seidl has litigated cases before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona in Maricopa County and Pinal County, the Arizona Court of Appeals - Division Two, Justice and Municipal Courts throughout Maricopa and Pinal Counties, and the Arizona Superior Courts in Maricopa County, Pinal County, Yavapai County, Coconino County, Yuma County, Navajo County, Mohave County and Gila County. Ms. Seidl practices primarily in family law which includes dissolution of marriage, legal separation, annulment, child custody, child support, parenting time, paternity/maternity actions, grandparent’s rights, termination of parental rights, step-parent adoptions, modification/enforcement/contempt actions, orders of protection and pre-nuptial agreements. In 2008, Ms. Seidl expanded her practice to include family law matters at the appellate level. Ms. Seidl also handles criminal law matters, including domestic violence, DUI defense, assault, juvenile delinquency and disorderly conduct.
Education
Ms. Seidl graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 2002 earning her B.S. in Justice Studies with a minor in Psychology. Ms. Seidl went on to earn her J.D. from Hamline University College of Law in January, 2005, although she studied as a visiting student at Arizona State University College of Law.
Ms. Seidl has worked almost exclusively in the legal field for the past fifteen years. During high school, college and law school, Ms. Seidl clerked with the Office of the Public Defender, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, and several general practice law firms in Minnesota and Arizona. Ms. Seidl also volunteered with the Innocence Project of Minnesota and the Justice Project of Arizona investigating inmate’s claims of actual innocence.
