Matthew McDonnell joins the Rose Law Group as a Renewable Energy/Energy Efficiency Consultant, where he assists clients with financing, regulatory, and policy issues related to the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. Mr. McDonnell brings with him a unique background in finance, policy and regulatory issues.
As Policy Lead for the Southern Arizona Green Chamber of Commerce, Mr. McDonnell delivered comments before the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC), achieving increased stability and continued success in the commercial solar market as a result. While legal intern for the Office of Commissioner Paul Newman at the ACC, Mr. McDonnell gained valuable experience and knowledge with both the Renewable Energy Standard as well as Arizona’s Energy Efficiency Standard. He also assisted Commissioner Newman’s office with a variety of procedural and policy matters.
At the Center for Resource Solutions, a national nonprofit that creates policy and market solutions to advance sustainable energy, Mr. McDonnell worked on a number of regulatory and policy issues related to Renewable Energy Credits and California’s implementation of a 33 percent renewable energy standard. Prior to attending law school, Mr. McDonnell worked in the financial industry, both as a risk analyst with Marsh, USA, and as a fund accountant with Davis Selected Advisors. Mr. McDonnell earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the University of Arizona.
