Recently Capitol Riesgo Global, a Spanish venture capitol firm purchase and equity interest in the Solano project for $125 Million. How much equity does that buy in a 1.45 Billion project? The management of Gila Bend has put all their eggs in one basket--solar. Stakeholders have not benefitted by the fast permit process. Immigration issues directly impact AZ, with only tangential effects on DC, and to argue that the Federal government alone has a voice on these issues is hard to believe (and also, not stated expressly in the Constitution). So, I think Brian stated it just right when he argues that the issue is greater than just immigration itself, it is a matter of preservation of State rights. If we don't want 1070, let's go to our legislators to amend or repeal, but it should be Arizona's prerogative.
