ROSE LAW GROUP IN THE LEAD WITH LEED

December 9th, 2008

Our own Nick Labadie is a LEED Building Accredited Professional. In accordance with the standards adopted by the U.S. Green Building Council Nick is fully immersed in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™. This enables RLG to add some serious green value to the breadth of services we already provide our broad range of clients.

As one of the 35,000+ attendees at the GreenBuild conference in Boston this fall Nick reports that there were no drum circles or flowers in the hair of the attendees he rubbed elbows with. “The scent of patchouli was nowhere to be found and everyone was clean shaven; the truth is that the big names in construction & development as well as the biggest (and smallest) consulting firms made up the bulk of the attendees.”

Nick offers this list for RLG clients to think about when it comes to the expanding world of  Green building:

For developers:

ü       An analysis of land, before or after acquisition to reveal which of the LEED credits for the SUSTAINABLE SITES LEED CATEGORY would be essentially automatic and how many would be potentially achievable. These credits add a facet of marketability and can attract buyers.

For owner/builders:

ü       Full LEED project management,

ü       Due diligence phase LEED analysis for assessing LEED categories and points potential.

Nick notes: “Green gets cheaper the earlier you think of it and before you buy is as early as it gets.” It can make a lot of economic sense when done right for the right projects. So go RLG and go Green. You just might end up with more of the other green stuff to boot.
