A measure at the Arizona Legislature would appropriate $5 million for the Arizona Department of Transportation to study a new north-south freeway in Pinal County.
The money for the study would come from the state’s General Fund, according to legislation (House Bill 2394) proposed by Arizona Rep. David Cook, R-Globe.
A new freeway would be an alternative to Interstate 10 and could enhance and create new economic development opportunities in Pinal.
Jordan Rose, founder and president of Rose Law Group who represents a group of Pinal County property and business owners advocating for the north-south freeway for the past 15 years says, “Moving the north -south freeway studies up in priority reflect the growing population of the area. This shows strong support on a statewide level for the future of Pinal County.”
