Central Arizona College cut the ribbon on two new buildings at the Signal Peak Campus on Tuesday.

CAC paid for the new Student Union and science building with $33 million in bonds the Governing Board approved in early 2016. The college plans to demolish the old buildings and replace them with desert landscaping once operations are fully transferred to the new facilities.

The buildings were authorized to update CAC’s original campus, which now is nearly 50 years old.

“As a resident of Pinal County, I am excited about the changes here at campus, and across all the campuses, and the good that happens to the students therein,” board President Rick Gibson said as he addressed the crowd gathered at the Signal Peak Campus to celebrate the unveiling of the new buildings.
