Valley Leadership is celebrating its 41st year in 2019 with a new class of leaders for its flagship Institute program, which aims again to educate them to be the next in line to help the region.

The regional program chose 50 local professionals for its nine-month course on the inner workings of the Phoenix area. Events consist of one to two program days per month culminating in a May 2020 graduation. The cohort includes nonprofit executives, small business owners, public officials and servants.

The program is designed to challenge participants to find ways to make a difference in the community. It has more than 3,000 alumni since its founding.

“As Valley Leadership continues our drive toward impact, we are excited to welcome this diverse and well-rounded group of proven and future leaders into the Valley Leadership family,” said Dave Brown, Valley Leadership CEO. “The selection process was incredibly competitive showcasing the desire of many Arizonans to dig into the issues facing our state. We look forward to empowering this cohort with the knowledge and solutions to impact our great state.”

Valley Leadership also has selected a group of 35 young professionals to take part in its shorter Accelerate program. It provides the lay of the land on issues facing Arizona and is intended for leaders just beginning their community work.
