Scottsdale’s Southbridge II, a massive project that would bring more than 1 million square feet of hotel, office and retail space, is expected to break ground in summer 2021.

The project, in part, would revitalize and better connect the boutique shops of Fifth Avenue to the original Southbridge project and the Scottsdale Waterfront, two popular areas along the Arizona Canal in Old Town. Southbridge is on the south side and the Waterfront is on the north.

Carter Unger, the son of developer Fred Unger, who died in 2018, is leading the next phase of his father’s Southbridge project that opened in 2007 with restaurants and offices at the foot of the canal bridge leading to the Scottsdale Waterfront.
