NAIOP’s legislative priorities for 2021

The Arizona chapter of NAIOP’s priorities for the 2021 legislative session include supporting reform of the state’s citizen initiative process, which the group’s leadership said has allowed the Grand Canyon State to be “a testing ground for ideas that are not home-grown ideas.”

Suzanne Kinney, president and CEO of NAIOP Arizona, said Proposition 207, which legalized recreational marijuana, and Proposition 208, which created a surtax on the state’s highest earners to fund education — both approved by voters in November — are some of the issues “hijacked” by out-of-state interests.
