The Avondale City Council unanimously approved a rezoning and development deal for the 163-acre Parkside Village property at Indian School Road and 99th Avenue.

The land is currently farmland.

It was previously slated for a development called Entorno in 2007. That project never happened.

Now, William Lyon Homes wants to develop the West Valley property.

The new development plans approved by Avondale allow for master planned community with 415 traditional single-family homes, 247 villas and 21.3-acre parcel for a future mixed-use development.

There is also 9.9-acre parcel that could be developed into offices. All told, Parkside Villages new zoning and development plans could include as many 662 new single-family homes and 300 multi-family residences, according to city documents.
