Pinal County solar project picks up tech, retail, mining and government customers

A 100-megawatt planned solar project in Coolidge will steer renewable energy to several large tech, retail, mining and government customers through Salt River Project’s Sustainable Energy Offering program.

Participating businesses include Albertsons Cos. Inc., the cities of Chandler, Mesa and Phoenix, CMC Steel Arizona, CyrusOne (Nasdaq: CONE), Digital Realty Trust Inc., Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE: FCX), Mesa Public Schools and Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT).

SRP contracted with a subsidiary of Juno, Florida-based NextEra EnergyInc. (NYSE: NEE) for the 1,027-acre project in Pinal County.
