Records obtained from a state agency shed some light on features of proposed amusement parks in Casa Grande.

Following a public records request to the Arizona Department of Water Resources, 150 pages of records were released concerning Dreamport Villages. Not all 150 pages were specific to the project. However, they did provide some background on the site, located in the southern part of Casa Grande, on both sides of Interstate 8.

In the records, the project is described as a “Destination Resort & Theme Park with Master Planned Community.” The project is listed as being on 2,100 acres with approximately 2,720 units.

A table showing some of the planned features of the site include a 163-acre coaster park, 69 acres for the resort/hotel and 67 acres for an indoor amusement area. All of these features, the records say, will be north of I-8.

Other features in the northern section include a sewage treatment plant, electrical substation, retail and commercial sites, movie studio and RV park, among others.
