Legal Administrative Assistant (Family Law)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Administrative Assistant to support our family law practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in litigation support and administrative case management. Experience in family law is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize incoming and outgoing client communications, including saving emails
and correspondence to appropriate database system and case files
- Save, label, and organize all email attachments within client files in accordance with firm
procedures
- Prepare documents for disclosure, including converting files to PDF format
- Redact confidential and sensitive information in documents prior to disclosure
- Apply Bates numbering to documents for litigation and disclosure purposes
- Assist in drafting shell disclosure statements and other standard legal documents
- Access and manage attorney email accounts used to receive financial records from institutions in
response to subpoenas duces tecum
- Maintain and securely manage login credentials and access information for financial institution
accounts associated with attorneys and cases
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a legal administrative or litigation support role required
- Experience with family law cases preferred but not required
- Must have a friendly, outgoing personality and a positive attitude
- This position requires the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with
attorneys and staff to support active litigation matters
- Familiarity with document management systems and filing procedures
- Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat (redaction, Bates stamping, etc.)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Must be detailed oriented and organized
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience handling discovery and disclosure processes
- Familiarity with subpoenas duces tecum and financial record collection
