LITIGATION PARALEGAL
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Litigation Paralegal to join our Litigation team. The right candidate will provide assistance in a diverse range of legal matters in state and federal courts. Bankruptcy experience is a plus. Our practice serves throughout Arizona, so familiarity with superior courts outside of Maricopa County is also a plus. The job duties include, but are not limited to:
• Review all incoming and outgoing pleadings and correspondence for calendaring and noticing requirements.
• Electronically format and file pleadings in superior court, district court, appellate court and bankruptcy court.
• Communicate with the court, clients, co-counsel and opposing counsel.
• Maintain and prepare documents for discovery, contested hearings, and trials.
• Provide file documents for the review and drafting of pleadings.
• Coordinate service and notice of legal documents.
• Provide general litigation support, including research, drafting of indexes, summaries, and spreadsheets.
Must Haves:
• 10+ years of Paralegal experience, including trial and evidentiary hearing involvement.
• Paralegal Certification.
• Knowledge of rules and procedures used in superior court, federal court and appellate tribunals.
• Knowledge of electronic filing procedures for state and federal courts.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to anticipate case needs, prioritize and meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
• Ability to prepare initial drafts of pleadings, correspondence, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Advanced knowledge of Westlaw and Adobe applications.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all the parties, counsel and agencies involved in the legal process.
• Self-starter motivated to get the tasks completed as well as cooperative to attain team goals.
