TGL officially adding Detroit team for 2027 season, with Jordan Rose, founder and president of Rose Law Group, as co-owner

TMRW Sports co-founders Mike McCarley and Tiger Woods with Michael and Peter Hamp, two of the new owners of Motor City Golf Club

By Sports Business Journal

TGL is officially expanding with a seventh team, with a Detroit-based Motor City Golf Club joining the tech golf league not next year but in 2027. The league was scheduled to announce the move on Tuesday afternoon. SBJ reported recently that TGL Holdings had filed for the trademark “Motor City Golf Club.” TGL later filed for more trademarks in Texas and Chicago.

Middle West Partners is the lead ownership group for the TGL team. It includes principals Michael Hamp, Peter Hamp and Kevin Kelleher, all with Detroit roots and the Lions. Lions Principal Owner and Chairwoman Sheila Hamp and her husband, Steve, will be co-owners of the TGL team.

Also part of the ownership group are Broncos owner Rob Walton and Jordan Rose, president and founder of Arizona-based Rose Law Group. The league said other investors in the team include Present Ventures’ Kit Hawkins and Vansa Chatikavanij; technology entrepreneur Kal Somani, co-owner of the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League; Ronin Capital Partners, led by Jay Farner, former CEO of Rocket Companies; and RHC Group.
