The planned 100-megawatt solar project in Coolidge — believed to be the largest solar farm in Pinal County — is expected to be operational by the end of 2020.

A subsidiary of Juno, Florida-based NextEra Energy Inc. (NYSE: NEE) contracted with Salt River Project for the 1,027-acre project.

Construction on the project is expected to start in 2020, with the project finished and operational by the end of next year, said Steve Stengel, a NextEra spokesman, told the Business Journal.
