Commercial property may develop quicker than other recent buys

A land investment firm led by three Valley women recently bought its fourth investment property, a 37-acre commercial parcel north of the fast-growing Tartesso community in Buckeye.

SLM Land Holdings, the Phoenix firm created by Anita Verma-Lallian, Eileen Jain Sahai and Smita Patil Mehta, bought the land for about $849,000, according to real estate database Vizzda. The acquisition likely will be for a shorter term than some of the firm’s other investments, because as Tartesso grows, demand for commercial development in the area also will grow, Verma-Lallian said.

“Right now, the closest commercial area in Buckeye is about 15 minutes away,” she said. “Commercial development in the area will be much-needed.”
