Dennis Brookshire has over forty years of legal experience representing business and entrepreneurial clients, financial institutions, and clients in the real estate and construction industry. His practice emphasizes real estate, business, construction, commercial law, tax and related litigation. He also represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service.
Dennis is licensed in Arizona and Oregon and is a member of the Arizona and Oregon State Bar Associations, the American Bar Association and various local legal associations. Dennis is a member of the Real Estate and Business sections of the Arizona and Oregon Bar Associations. He is admitted to the Arizona and Oregon Supreme Courts, Federal District Courts of Arizona and Oregon, Federal Bankruptcy Courts for Arizona and Oregon, Federal Bankruptcy Appellate Panel (9th Circuit), Federal Circuit Court of Appeals (9th Circuit) and United States Tax Court.
Dennis graduated cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in political science and business administration from Oregon State University in 1979. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1982. Mr. Brookshire has served on the Oregon State Bar’s Real Estate and Land Use Section executive committee and is past chair of the section’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. He has also served on the Oregon State Bar Association’s Local Professional Responsibility Committee.
Dennis is the former Managing Partner of a premier regional law firm in Lake Oswego, Oregon, former Chairman of the Board of Oregonians Federal Credit Union (20 year board member and over $320 Million in assets) and is former general counsel for the Institute of Certified Business Counselors. He is regarded as a real estate expert and is a frequent speaker and instructor for Oregon and Arizona real estate professionals including their ethics courses. Dennis has served on various boards and councils for financial institutions and community organizations for over twenty years. Dennis is also past Prime Minister of the Royal Rosarians, the official ambassadors for the City of Portland, Oregon.
For personal enjoyment Dennis enjoys golf, hunting and especially motorsports. Dennis is a twelve time series champion amateur race car driver, three-time consecutive recipient of the Mark Donohue Award (Driver of the Year – Oregon Region Porsche Club of America), former certified Porsche Club of America driving instructor and raced professionally in IMSA.
